• SECTION 1 - READINGS So you know what I've read this week and what I haven't - that being said i'm certain i've missed a bunch of stuff you didn't set.
• SECTION 2 - Task for tomorrow - generate a sentence which stakes out (massive) ambition for the work (as in singular final outcome) this year and crystallises it's form. Have made a start.
  • This is open to future re-interpretation - but shouldn't be a catch all - it should be shamelessly ambitious and materially let me crank everything up to the proverbial 11. There are more notes my journal - might be useful.
• SECTION 3 - Two Works which might help as props but we can help confine discussion with. One piece which is documentation of technical test (but also personal proof of an overarching technical system {kind of genius}).  Which you should limit me to explaining technically only in like 1/2 min otherwise I'll get lost.
• SECTION 4 - BUNCH OF NOTES, SOME YOUTUBE VIDEOS, - most reading notes are written on in Gold on A4 on my desk.

Ambition & agenda for this year in one sentence (this needs refining - this could slash/should be the focus of our tutorial - other versions are written in my note book):

CREATE A PIECE WHICH SELF-CONSCIOUSLY, DYNAMICALLY, SPECTACULARLY, & SENSOUSLY works toward productively [unraveling|UNPICKING|MAKE SENSE OF] THE PRESENT MOMENT AND INSO DOING GIVE RENEWED MEANING TO LIFE

The breakdown:

Create a PIECE

- in the form of an installation which is made up of a [constellation] {see Rhizome Keywords here} of elements (other works (some saleable) {fractals})

WHICH

SELF-CONSCIOUSLY,

- must have elements which capitulate on the process of production (reciprocates cultural hegemony [?]) - vis a vis drawing machine, sick of winning, @justinbieber(2017)

DYNAMICALLY,

- Must have elements which operate in real-time, must be self-articulating, fractal of world (?) as well as critique of it 

SPECTACULARLY,

- Must operate and relate through a variety of forms and media across a variety of scales and forms. Organic (audience as well as plants etc), Inorganic (plastic), Sonic (v-v-important), Colour, Virtual, Physical etc (not in terms of unification (Doric Stacks (bigger), Nuremberg, Trump Rally, Rienzi world of BLADE RUNNER + 2049 etc)

& { MOST IMPORTANTLY } SENSUOUSLY

- Must fundamentally function paralinguistically otherwise there is no point doing it. If there was a comfortable lexical solution the big F, D&G, or JG [thats you Golding], would have written it. This also implies huge element of complex and reciprocal sensitivity (attunement (?? - probably not. must clarify this) which the belligerent music festival lighting shows, the shock and awe Nazis etc don't necessarily have

- Productively - as in helps the audience garner greater self-awareness and productive self-determination which is empowering rather than driving them into OMFG IM A PUDDLE depression (they need to have the prospect of Terminatoring [LINKED]  (but in a not bad for humans way) their way back out of said puddle)

SECTION 3

Lets try and confine the discussion to these three things:

Explanation - don't really need to read till tuitorial.

Technical test for installation (grad project) working title [{Rienzi} Ad Iinfinitum]

Important notes:

• The piece is produced in cinematic 5.1 surround (the sound is bodily and destabilising the subject)
• Relation between data determines words, emojis colours and piece shifts
• Ultimately it will be fully automated (no janis djing - but element of autopiloting will be programmed in to smooth and structure process)
• Data in is realtime.
• Imagine with suns all over the floor and crazy festival lighting (moving heads etc) this will all be pulsating with the rhythm.

Eventually other tones enter > changes colours around words

Aesthetic References:
